Tedlar® PVF sampling bags are manufactured from 50mil DuPont™ polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film. This material offers outstanding chemical resistance, solvent resistance, and anti-fouling properties, as well as excellent resistance to acids and alkalis. At room temperature, Tedlar® PVF film is chemically inert and suitable for collecting samples containing common solvents.
Tedlar® PVF sampling bags are widely used for the collection of carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), benzene, radon, mercaptans, hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents.
They are ideal for the short-term storage of low-concentration corrosive gases (ppm and ppb levels) and chemically reactive gases (pre saturation is recommended). These bags are also suitable for sampling photosensitive compounds and halogenated volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
When sampling ppm or ppb level reactive compounds, Tedlar® PVF sampling bags should be cleaned with high-purity air or nitrogen to minimize carryover from previous samples. They may also be heated in an oven at 40°C to 60°C to remove residual contaminants.
Tedlar® PVF sampling bags are recommended in numerous US EPA methods, including TCLP, TO-3 (VOCs), TO-12 (NMOC), TO-14A (VOCs), TO-15 (VOCs), ASTM D-5504 (reduced sulfur compounds), and various ambient air gas methods.
An aluminum foil composite outer layer is available to protect samples from degradation.
The continuous operating temperature range is -72°C to 107°C.
Fully customized solutions are provided to meet specific size and application requirements, with volumes ranging from 0.5 L to 4,000 L.
Clip-n-Seal® tapes are offered for secure sealing of solid samples such as automotive interior components and plants.
